We got out yesterday to take advantage of the sun. It was SO nice! A walk to the park, meeting friends, playing on the playground, mastering the scooter... it was a good day.

Merilyn and I had a "coffee date" the other day. {I'm so happy that both of my girls love Starbucks as much as I do!}

Seven

Ali had several of her friends over for her birthday party on Saturday. She wanted a Scooby Doo party, so I went online in search of party ideas. Lucky for me, I found a few & the party went off without a hitch.

To start off, the guests came in & made frames for a picture that we took of them & the birthday girl.

After pizza {cheese pizza with no sauce, of course} we brought out the cake... only to find it had been snatched by The Phantom! This lead the kids on to a series of games & clues looking for the birthday cake.

Finally, the kids tracked down all of the puzzle pieces & discovered the cake! Ali didn't know it, but Trav had ordered this cake weeks ago. {It got me off the hook of trying to bake a cake in the shape of Scooby!! Whew!}

It was a very fun day... Alison was very happy & loved every minute of it! {Merilyn has decided that she is also going to have a Scooby birthday in September!}

Happy Valentine's Day

7 Years Ago...

Seriously? Has it really been 7 years?? Alison has been eagerly anticipating today for quite awhile... we've been getting a daily countdown for at least a month.

She had her breakfast waffle this morning, & Gramma picked her up from school. Together they hit McDonald's for a snack & then on to the mall for some birthday shopping. I asked Ali if they went into McD's for their snack, or if they went through the drive-thru... "We went through the drive-thru because we were both just so excited to do our shopping!"

For her birthday dinner she chose to go to Sweet Tomatoes. She loves loading her tray up with cucumbers, ranch, pickles, and olives. {Delicious, right?} Grandma Sandy made a super-yummy Scooby Doo cake with purple frosting, as requested.
Happy Birthday, Ali! You are such a sweet, smart, loving, beautiful seven-year old. We love you so much!

Sick Day

Merilyn was up several times in the night with an ugly sounding cough, and when we got up this morning she felt awfully warm. So I dug out the thermometer... sure enough, 101. By the time I had called a sub, the daycare, etc., poor thing was up to 102.5. Mer and I took it easy today with lots of snuggle time. {I can't complain about that!} She's almost always easy-going, even when she's not feeling 100%. Such a sweetheart.
