Mt. Hood Weekend

Isn't it interesting how two children from the same parents can be so different? Ali has loved reading and "homework" since she was really little, and the other day I started to worry that I hadn't been as good at encouraging Meri as I was with Ali. So, when Meri and I had a day together last week with just the two of us, I thought I would try to work with her on her colors. She was super excited... for about 5 minutes. She lost interest in working on orange very quickly and decided that purple would be a better color for carrots and pumpkins.

Baby Charlotte

Casey & Greg had their third baby on January 21st. Another little girl! I'm sure Greg isn't thinking about the days & years ahead of him with 3 teenage girls... hee hee. Charlotte is a perfect addition to our family circus... and her big sisters are so excited to finally have her here. Well, maybe until she starts getting into all of their stuff...

Happy New Year!
It seems like we were just ringing in 2009! I know I say it all the time, but it is truly amazing to me how fast time goes by!! Our family spent the evening together at my mom's laughing, playing games, celebrating... spending time with some of the most important people in my life.

Happy 2010!
Sudden Snow 2009!
As the snow fell, I glued myself to the TV to see what the media had named this unexpected storm... Sudden Snow 2009. Love it! Travis, however, didn't love it as it took him over three hours to get home. The snow came right at rush hour and everyone freaked out. He took all kinds of back roads and side streets, and eventually made it home. The most disturbing part was the fact that cell phones weren't working... I had no way of getting ahold of him to see if he was okay!
Travis did make it home safely, and after he ate something, {who knew he'd need an emergency food kit in his car!} we bundled the girls up and he took them out in the snow for some fun. It was a beautiful night!

The bummer was, that the snow was pretty much gone by the time the girls and I got up the next morning. The snowman they built the night before was only a small lump in the grass. I wondered why in the heck it couldn't have waited until the Sunday night before we had to go back to school?!?
