"But, I wasn't jumping on the bed!"

GO BEAVS!

We were able to head to Corvallis for the OSU/Stanford game last Saturday. The leaves were changing colors, the air was crisp, and the sun was out... it was a beautiful fall football day! Ken surprised us with OSU donuts on the way down. They were so good!

We got there really early so had plenty of time to set up, eat, walk to the book store, eat, throw the football around, and eat. There is never a lack of food on game days! Energy and spirits were high and loud in the stadium, and the Beavs played a fabulous first half. The second half kept us guessing, but it was a great game! {And, the Beavers won 38-28!}

Overwhelmed

Let me take you on a little tour of our home at the moment...

How does it get like this so flippin' fast?? Calgon... take me away.

Happy Birthday Merilyn!

I know I say this every year, and for every birthday, but it really is amazing how quickly time - life - zips by.

Merilyn turned three and celebrated with Ali and her cousins at Build-A-Bear. They all got to pick an animal to stuff and dress up. They rang a big bell, and everyone in the Build-A-Bear store sang to Meri... and this was her reaction: she was not happy!

We went over to meet Daddy, Mike, and Uncle Greg at Red Robin for dinner. As usual, a big group of employees from the restaurant came over to sing to Meri. However, when they sang to her this time, she was overjoyed!

Happy Birthday sweet girl! You add so much to our lives. We love you!

Swimming Lessons

After Ali's horrible first experience with swim lessons, we decided to wait awhile before attempting again. This was the year! Over the summer we spent a lot of time in pools swimming with friends and family, and Ali completely enjoyed herself. We signed both of the girls up for three weeks of lessons this fall and they loved it!

It was such a good experience. I want them to take another session, but we'll wait awhile. {It'll be nice to have a little break!}

Another Tooth

Back to School

It's hard to believe that one week ago I had the "freedom" to do this:

I was in the middle of a giant project - scrapbooking my trip to Boston. Now it's back to correcting papers and helping with homework.

Alison was so excited for her first day of first grade... until she saw she was sitting by a bunch of boys she didn't know. She got very quiet and teary and didn't want us to go "yet". It had been a "long summer" and she wasn't "used to being in school". Ali hung out with the teacher for a little bit and seemed to be okay when we left. Gramma picked her up at the end of the day and reported that she was fine and had a good day. :)

Edited: When Trav took Ali to school the next day, she had been moved to a new spot with another little girl. Ali is much happier!

Merilyn - on the other hand - didn't want Trav to stick around. She wanted to go into pre-school without him and do it all by herself. (He did stay a few minutes to get some pictures for me - thank you!)
